Module 6: Cloud Computing & Web 2.0
Internet Filtering Curated Content Resource File
ASSIGNMENT Part 1 Internet Filtering:
Think about how you might integrate some of these new tools into your classroom. Does your School/District use Internet Filtering Software to limit students access to inappropriate sites on the Internet? Does this blocking (filtering) software blockYou Tube? Does it block any of the other Web 2.0 applications? As a Teacher, Media Specialist, or Technology Coordinator in a school you will be expected to take a stance on Internet Filtering Software and how it fits with your philosophy of "creating an environment that facilitates learning." This means that you need to spend a little time thinking about Internet Filtering Software and its affect on the instructional process.
ASSIGNMENT Part 2 Curated Content Resource File
This assignment compares two curation tools: Blendspace.com and BagtheWeb.com. The lessons created using these tools are identical and developed for teachers learning how to create a blog for teacher/parent/student contact. Part of doing this correctly is maintaining professional online behavior. You can see the BagtheWeb lesson just below this paragraph and Blendspace is at the bottom of the page. See below the URL's for both sites:
