Module 9: Podcasting

Please enjoy the podcast lesson on Creating a Classroom Blog using Weebly.com.

                                                Audio Podcasting Reflection

This was the first time I ever created a podcast.  Writing the script did not take a lot of time because I knew what I wanted to say; however making the recording was difficult.  Finding a room that was completely quiet seemed near impossible.  I recorded at least 25 times before I made it through the entire script.  I would get tongue tied and say the wrong words, read the wrong line, the phone would ring, or a peanut truck would drive by during recording.  I found this extremely frustrating, because for some reason I am a perfectionist.  I downloaded the Audacity app but after a few attempts with this app I decided to look at the Spreaker.com online format.  Spreaker.com was more user-friendly.  The recording deck was simple and easy to use. The video tutorials were very helpful when creating the podcast.  It was easy to save as a MP3 file.  I choose to create an audio file that would work with lesson one in my course I developed this summer and for the final project in this class.  I want the individuals who take my online course to have a variety of experiences when learning and I believe this audio podcast was a great way to introduce them to blogging and its uses in a classroom.
Note Added 10-27-2014
I was updating my course respository for module 14 today, however my embedded audio file did not load at school.  I wonder if the lightspeed software was blocking the feed, therefore I am placing a file with the recording to for this audio below.
